Justin’s wedding – plus “it’s a boy”

Justin’s wedding – plus “it’s a boy”

How does time go by so quickly? I guess time does fly by. One day he is just a baby, the next day he is getting married and having a baby (and yes, it’s a boy).

The wedding weekend was amazing. It started with rehearsal on Friday night with a nice party at the Springfield Country Club following the practice run at the church. The night was perfect. Justin and Becky had some real nice words for all the people who were involved with their big day. The food was 1st class and then I glimpsed over and noticed that they had a table full of post meal treats. I put a hurt on the dessert table knowing that I had a 2 hour bike and a long run Saturday AM. I did refrain from any booze, even though there was a bottle of Jack that was staring at me every time I ordered a water.

Saturday started early with a couple hours on the bike and then a 14 mile run that had to be completed before getting to the church by 12:30 (I even snuck in a 4 egg bagel at Bensons). I knew I couldn’t be late for this one. Not only was it a family wedding ………. But, My Bro and I had to bring the bread and wine to alter during the ceremony. I was so hungry from the long run I almost snagged a few pieces of the church flatbreads. Brian was having a hard time with carrying the wine. The smell of it was making him gag (he had a slight hangover from the rehearsal dinner). We got the job done without incident. The ceremony was beautiful and then it was off to the reception in Simsbury. The reception was sick. The decor, the food, the music, the people & the amount of details that they put into this wedding and made it a very interesting event. Becky looked awesome and looks like she will be a perfect fit for Justin. They both put a lot of thought into everything that happened throughout the night. Did I mention that it was open bar. Yes, I put the hurt on Sam Adams (only did 1 shot of Jack). After the meal they had a ice cream bar. Yes, I was all in (see pics). After an amazing night I somehow made it home in one piece, ate a tuna sandwich and hit the sack. No hangover ……… Sweeeeeet !!!!

Because I had to do a 5 hour bike Sunday morning I lucked out that I didn’t have a big head. The first part of the bike went well. Then I had to head to Sams for brunch. Yes, more food. I even snuck in a bloody Mary. The brunch was part 3 of the wedding weekend. It was nice to spend the whole weekend with my family. You could tell everyone was smoked from a long road of planning and the weekend of partying. After brunch it was back on the bike. I somehow got all my workouts in for a total of about 21 hours of training for the week (my biggest week ever, and it’s only February). Only 5 more months to go for the big race at Lake Placid.
